rhymes with chameleon

I spent two hours tonight mashing together lyrics that sound okay when actually sung in English to the melody. The result is silly, but it actually sounds reasonably natural when song, so whatever. It was an interesting experience! Japanese has too many syllables and English stress is finnicky. But someone with more vocal talent should really be the one to sing this.


Wind sweeping souls up and away;

Oh mother earth, oh father sky,
Hear me, wind and light --
Care for those who live here, who call this home,
Care for those who live here where we belong,
Flourish here beside us.

Most of the lines are pretty intuitive, but here's how it maps onto the original, because there are a few stops where I was like "I'll BS this and hold this syllable over three notes because soul is just that cool of a word."
