Some more NoJ Q&A about FE10

These are basically everything I found interesting (ie practically all the non-gameplay ones). This is quite long, beware!

Third from the bottom:

Penname: Cal
Age: 15 Gender: F
Question
I hear the laguz select powerful people to be kings, but the heron tribe seems to have royalty, so might it be hereditary?
Answer
For the beast tribe, and the hawk and raven tribes of the bird clans, at the moment it is customary for the most powerful person to take the crown.
For the heron tribe of the bird clans, and Goldoa's dragons, in relation to those two nations, as a trait of their subspecies1, the white herons of the heron people, and the black dragons of the dragon tribe, are born the strongest, so they've acquired a schema where people within those families are automatically given the throne.

1 Literally it just says "kind" but this is my interpretation that I believe makes it easier to read this in English.

Fourth from the top:
Penname: Matsuyuu Dou
Age: 25 Gender: M
Question
This is a matter transcending the setting, but in Radiant Dawn (as well as Fire Emblem as a series), am I correct in recognizing that in-game stats correspond to strength in the FE setting? When considering the cutscenes and so on, I feel like it's a little out of place, but...
Answer
With the aim of restricting in-game numbers from the setting, it is not necessarily so that in-game stats correspond to strength in the FE setting.
However, whereever possible, we try to convey the impression [of a unit's] strength in the FE setting in our [mechanical] schema, within established limits.

Way too lazy to translate the whole thing, but the next question asks about favorite characters, and apparently the design team likes Meg the best.

Four from the bottom, the design team apparently gets headcanony without solicitation, remarking that among hawks Tibarn has the best physique, Janaff is the tiniest, and Ulki is slender but the most average for the three.

In the last question of this page, they say that Tormod hasn't grown much at all; Sothe's just grown 10 cm, but it seems like more lolz.

In the 5th answer here, NoJ responds to a "how i level staff chick" question with "if you prioritize raising those characters over your staff usage, we recommend spamming heal on scratches." (WELL OKAY not that casually but THAT IS WHAT THEY ADVISE.)

Three from the bottom: Rolf, Eddie, Leonardo, Meg are about the same age. Five from the bottom: Haar and Titania are in their 30s. Sigrun is in her late 20s.

Five from the bottom, a 27-year-old man who LOVES BERSERKERS wants to know if you get Largo in this game. NoJ is like, um, he shows up in scenes but no sorry. Btw if he's level 20 in FE9 and has maxed stats, Calill gets bonuses. "Calill is fighting Largo's part... is [the impression it's supposed to give]." omg that's so cute.

Also Titania is slightly older than Aimee. You know, if that was ever an important matter to you.

Second from the bottom:

Penname: Haree
Age: 18 Gender: M
Question
Are Danved and Devdan the same person?
Though it seems that way, why does he deny it?
I've been so worried that I'm only getting 8 hours of sleep a night. [t/n: unsure]
Answer
Indeed, Danved himself asserts in the game that he's a different person. Perhaps there are some kind of mysterious circumstances here, hmm?

Sixth from the top:

Penname: A hunchbacked peddler
Age: 16 Gender: M
Question
How did the Kilvan girl Vika meet Tormod and his bunch?
When I think about how she gives Micaiah the Goddess Icon, and her intense shyness around strangers, for some reason it seems she's gone through much hardship.
Answer
She was originally a laguz slave.
She lived a quite difficult life; Tormod and his bunch helped her, and rescued her -- that's how it happened.

Top question:

Penname: Wazekaka
Age: 16 Gender: M
Question
Characters like Nolan and Heather who first appear in FE10, and yet do not have much said about their backstory -- might they have established backgrounds?
If they do, I would like it if they could be shown to the public...
Answer
All of the characters were designed with individual backstories.
Though it would be nice if we had a chance to somehow display them, that is still undecided.

Four from the top:

Penname: Hanane
Age: 24 Gender: F
Question
About how long are laguz lifespans?
Answer
Compared to the beorc, the beast tribes' are about 5~6 times. The hawks and ravens of the bird tribe are nearly 10 times. The herons' are over a thousand years, and the dragons' are over two thousand years.

Two from the bottom:

Penname: Milk pudding
Age: 19 Gender: F
Question
Nice to meet you! I've really enjoyed the latest Fire Emblem as well. This is abrupt, but let me ask a question.
Within the game, Ranulf is portrayed as feeling unwell when there is too much chaos. Might Ranulf perhaps have a strong affinity for order like the herons and Mist?
Answer
That's right. Though not as strong as Mist, the spirit of order is also strong within Ranulf, and so he is also quite good at sensing its presence.

And of course, let's not forget the one about Heather, which is so awesome it gets its own post.

Is the "losing sleep over this question" a thing in Japan? It appeared in that Heather question as well.

This stuff is interesting, as usual. It'd be fun to be able to ask questions of the development team. You know, I believe there is an FE6 Q&A somewhere... if you get bored later.... :P

For the heron tribe of the bird clan . . . the white herons of the heron people . . . are born the strongest, so they've acquired a schema where people within those families are automatically given the throne.

random technical curiosity: does the original Japanese word for "strongest" here imply more than simply physical strength? because that seems like it'd be a very, very strange metric for evaluating the herons.

(also the bit about calill fighting largo's part is adorbs)

Great! Permission to possibly use some of these translations?

Great job as always!

I like to do things completely, so if nobody else has translated the rest of the Q & A I'd love to have a stab at it. Of course, seeing as you wonderfully translated a lot of the replies, if I were to post it in full, would I be able to use your translations for those sections? (I'll be sure to cross check them and such of course, as well as link back as usual)!
