Abandoned WIP - Fire Emblem: The Three Heroes - Resource Dump
Fire Emblem: The Three Heroes was a romhack project that I was taken with in late 2011. It was supposed to be the tale of Altina and company in the first great war that would result in the Great Flood. It was ultimately abandoned because 1) it was a lot of work and I discovered that I didn't quite care that much about ancient Tellius, and 2) I think I lacked a clear unifying vision that created many problems from the tone not being what I wanted it to be, to having a lot of difficulty picking appropriate names.
Nonetheless, I have a lot of assets on my computer related to this project, so I figured I'd share for the lulz.
Unless otherwise mentioned, everything on this post was by me. Raphi did some spritework and I think I brainstormed with her and Lily. Yeah, I did the music, which is why it's not very good. I probably should've outsourced that to Natalie. :P
Here's the latest version of the patch that survived my brother's computer crash: x
(My brother did all the hacking work. This is actually what got him into FE hacking. Now apparently he's a big-shot in the hacking community.)
It's an FE7 patch. It's a UPS patch, which means you'll have to apply it to the English FE7 rom using the UPS utility here.
It's up to chapter 1, I think. Which means it has basically nothing interesting. The continent highlighting doesn't correspond with the text, and typos abound. Also apparently only Sarita's sprite is in. I legit thought there were more sprites in, but I guess not.
Also the difficulty is more in line with hard modes of the games. I was gonna work on balancing after I had more done.
Altina's portrait was supposed to be done from scratch eventually, so for the hack I just quickly chopped together an indigo-haired Karla. I don't seem to have that on hand and the version of the patch here doesn't even have that, so you get Eliwood. Heh.

Lehran (back in the days when he still had wings)
Adapted from his official sprite. The muddy coloration is because of the 16-color limit to GBA palettes.

Lehran (possessed by Ashera)

Ashera. The second portrait I did from scratch and I think it shows. (The first shall not see the light of day.) Her posture is rigid and her mouth looks weird, I know. :(

Spirity Ashera, after Yune kicks her out of their body and she's the weaker half.

Ashunera, also adapted from her official sprite.

Damon, an archer. Son of a mayor of a port city. I think Raphi may have made this one but I honestly don't remember.

Aster. I think he was either a dorky mage or a dorky shaman? Not sure if I made this or if Raphi did.

Darcy, a cleric. Raphi did this one.

Randell, the red cav.

Florice, the green cav.

Gaius, the jeigan. I swear I named him before FE13 was a thing.

Noam. Hell if I remember what was up with him.

Sarita, wind mage, handmaid and BFF to Altina. (Yes, I shipped them.)

Yune.
I made her sprite from scratch after Ashera's and was much happier about it.

Yune, angry and flooding the planet and in need of a smackdown.
And for fun, I think I did Ike and Soren for a trial map or something.

(These all include awkward instructions for presentation and sometimes random numbers that I was using to gauge the size of a text box.)
Prologue
The world of the goddess.
Since her first creations, life evolved into the Zunanma.
From the Zunanma came forth many kinds of life, filling the continent and those beyond.
[Highlight Tekkeit] In the north is the continent of Tekkeit. There, the new people who cannot change form - so-called "humans" - expanded further northward.
[Highlight the hawk and heron island and the part of Cel north of the mountains] The winged people spread south to Cel, and the islands in the sea.
[Highlight southern Cel and south Hatari] Those capable of shifting into the form of limber beasts found their home in southern Cel and the eastern edge of Tellius.
[Highlight southwest Tellius] And those who found themselves with the form of dragons settled the southwestern plateaus of Tellius.
The people have mingled since the dawn of time. [Draw trade routes] The people of Tekkeit have innovated since the first of their kind, and built boats to trade over the waters. [Mark cities] Over time, port cities and human colonies bloomed all over the world.
[Mark city in northwest Cel] Unfortunately, this expansion was not always welcomed.
A series of tragedies quickly escalated into full-out war. [Draw arrows] The beast tribes found themselves an ally in the likeminded bird tribes. They launched a series of devastating attacks on the unprepared people of Tekkeit.
Knowing that they would not last alone, King [whatshisface] petitions the human settlement at Tellius for aid. [Show Altina running across a path across the sea from Tellius to Tekkeit.]
[Prologue: Across the Sea]
[BGM: Sounds of waves washing.]
[Show map sprite, Altina standing at the stern of the boat]
Altina: ...
[Sarita (wind mage) runs in from the bottom of the screen]
Sarita: Milady?
Milady ... oh!
[Sarita runs up to Altina's side.]
[BGM: Something else. :P]
[Switch to portrait view. Background: boat. Altina is on the left facing left, Sarita is on the right facing left.]
Sarita: Milady, here you are!
Altina: [Faces right]
Sarita. What is it?
Sarita: You seemed so quiet at lunch today.
I thought you could use some company.
Altina: Oh... Thank you, Sarita.
To tell you the truth, I wish we had more time alone lately.
Sarita: I'm so sorry!
I'd been so busy helping with your father's estate, looking over the paperwork,
and ever since we've boarded I've just been selfishly sleeping...
Altina: Ha ha. It's all right Sarita. I don't mean to fault you.
I know this is their way of testing me.
Still, to be sent on this mission so soon after... [closes eyes]
Sarita: Milady...
Altina: I will do this, Sarita.
I will show them that I am as much a Lord as my father had been.
I will come home proud.
Sarita: [hop]
I have no doubt!
[Show map sprites again]
[BGM cuts out]
[Screen shakes]
Altina: What was that?
[Screen shakes]
[BGM to something more fight-y]
Off-screen: Pirates! It's a pirate attack!
Altina: Pirates? I'm going to see what's going on.
[Altina runs south off-screen]
Sarita: Wait--I'm coming with you!
[Switch to portraits. Altina on the right facing left, Gaius (Jeigan Paladin) on the left facing right]
Altina: Gaius? What's going on?
Gaius: Milady, please do not worry. We have the situation under control.
Altina: Gaius. Tell me what's happening.
Gaius: We are opening fire on a pirate ship. We are in no danger.
Please, rest safely in your cabin until the commotion has cleared.
Altina: If we are in no danger, I see no reason to hide.
Gaius: Milady --
Off-Screen Left: They're boarding! Off the port stern!
[Randel enters from the left; Gaius reappears next to Altina facing left]
Randel: They're climbing lines off the bow!
General Gaius, we need you to take charge of the situation!
Gaius: I will.
Milady Altina, please wait in the cabins.
Altina: You barely have enough men to control the threat at the bow.
You and your men are not well-trained in foot combat, correct?
I am quite skilled with the sword. I shall fend off the pirates that have already boarded at the stern.
Gaius: With all due respect, milady --
[Altina's sprite vanishes]
[Sarita appears in her position]
Gaius: Miss Sarita, would you kindly...
Sarita: Milady Altina! Wait for me!
[Sarita vanishes]
Gaius: [closes eyes]
By the goddess, Tellian women are impossible...
[Show map sprites. Altina is in her starting position, as well as the pirates. Sarita runs in, to her position.]
[Left] Pirate: Arr, wench! Ye'd best run an' hide!
[Altina and Sarita on the right, with Sarita behind Altina]
Sarita: Milady! Let me help! I've studied some magic at court.
[Altina turns around to face Sarita]
Altina: Sarita? You have never fought before, have you?
Sarita: Please let me help, Milady. There are certain to be more.
Altina: Very well. Stay behind me.
[Turn one]
[After battle]
[On map]
Altina: Whew, that's all of them. Let's see how the others are doing.
[Boat background]
[Randel on right, Gaius on left]
Randel: That's all of them, sir.
Gaius: Good work.
Round up the men and we'll take stock of the damage.
Randel: Yes, sir. [leaves]
[Altina appears in place of Randel]
Altina: Sarita and I have finished by the stern, Gaius.
Gaius: Duly noted.
Altina: We shall retreat to our cabins for now.
I ask that we not be disturbed.
Gaius: Yes, Milady.
[Altina leaves]
Gaius: ... [closes eyes]

[THE FOLLOWING SCENE IS PLAYED IF SARITA IS ALIVE]
[Altina at left]
Altina: Pheww!
I never thought I'd be so happy to see a bed.
[Altina vanishes]
[Sarita appears on the right]
Sarita: Haa...
[Sarita vanishes]
Off-screen Right: There were more of them than I expected.
Off-screen Left: Me too.
I never thought I would have to cast so many spells all at once...
Off-screen Right: I've never been hit like that before.
It's nothing like training at all.
Off-screen Left: Yet...
[Sarita appears, same position]
Sarita: There aren't many knights with us.
[Altina appears, same position]
Altina: That's right.
We'll have to pull our own weight.
[closes eyes] After that wound I'm starting to regret it...
Sarita: [hop] Milady, we would fight twice as hard to keep you safe!
Altina: Oh, Sarita. I want no such thing.
I left most of the forces of House Kirsch at home to guard the people, true...
But it was also because I wanted to have a hand in my own defense.
Sarita: Milady...
Altina: My grandfather was appointed to the nobility for his brave swordsmanship.
My father learned the art of dual swordsmanship from him and passed it on to me.
Even though Tellius's forests are not as dangerous as they once were...
I intend to master the twin blades that House Kirsch is known for.
Sarita: I would always find you in the training yard...
You've always been so diligent.
I'm sure your father would be proud.
Altina: My poor father... He wanted to die fighting.
None of us imagined that an illness could take him...
[closes eyes] I... [opens eyes] How could [close] something so [open] simple...!?
Sarita: [comes closer] Milady... Altina...
I'm sorry. I shouldn't have mentioned that...
Altina: No, it's all right, Sarita...
I must learn to master my grief.
If I am to be an envoy of the Kingdom of Tellius,
123456789012345678901234567890
I must present King
Leodegrance of Tekkeit
with a face as strong as
our people. We shall aid
the other humans, if need be,
but we will let it be known
that we are not and never
have been Tekkeit's colony.
Sarita: That's just like you, Altina.
I know they mean to test you, but in earnest,
none of them would have made an ambassador half as fine as you!
Altina: I don't know about that, but surely...
None of them has ever had such a constant companion.
I'm glad I have you with me, Sarita.
Sarita: I wouldn't have stayed behind if you'd asked me.
Well... [hop] no, I would have... [hop hop]
Altina: Hahaha!
Sarita: Oh, but I'm glad you took me along!
Altina: Of course.
[End chapter]
[THE FOLLOWING IS PLAYED IF SARITA RETREATED]
[Altina at left]
Altina: Sarita. Are you all right?
[Sarita appears at right]
Sarita: Milady...
Altina: Don't move.
[Altina goes closer]
Goodness. Your bandages are already soaked.
Sarita: I'll be fine. The medics took good care of me.
Altina: I shouldn't have made you fight.
Sarita: I asked you to, Milady.
Altina: I can't let you get hurt like this.
We were lucky this time. I don't want to lose you, Sarita...
Sarita: Milady... I won't die yet.
I can't leave you alone.
Altina: I'd forgotten. You were a student of magic theory!
You aren't crazy like me.
Out to master the twin blades that House Kirsch is known for....
Sarita: Oh, you're not crazy, Altina...
I would always find you in the training yard...
You've always been so diligent.
I'm sure your father would be proud.
Altina: My poor father...
He cannot be proud or ashamed of me anymore.
[closes eyes] I... [opens eyes] How could [close] something so [open] simple...!?
Sarita: Milady... Altina...
I'm sorry. I shouldn't have mentioned that...
Altina: No, it's all right, Sarita...
I must learn to master my grief.
If I am to be an envoy of the Kingdom of Tellius,
I must present King Leodegrance of Tekkeit with a face as strong as our people.
But... I need you with me, you see?
No more fighting from now on. Promise me.
Sarita: I promise.
But you give me too much credit.
I know they mean to test you, but...
none of them would have made an ambassador half as fine as you.
Altina: I don't know about that, but surely...
None of them has ever had such a constant companion.
I need you with me, Sarita.
Sarita: I will be fine, Altina. Please don't worry.
Altina: Mm. You need your rest now.
[She takes a step back]
... I'll see you tomorrow.
Sarita: See you tomorrow.
[Altina vanishes]
[Sarita closes her eyes]
[End chapter]
[DEATH QUOTES]
[Altina]
Altina: Crr...!
N-no... not here...
hSarita: No! Milady!
Altina: Sarita...
Was I...too...proud?
Sarita: Altina!? Y-you can't die!
Altina!!
[Game over]
[Sarita - This should be the case for all chapters.]
Sarita: Ahh!
Altina: Sarita! Get back!
I can't lose you out here.
Sarita: Yes.
I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful...
Chapter 1
[Map: Altina runs from the ocean to the port city, Torda]
The Tellian envoys' ocean crossing continues
without any further trouble. [A]
[Altina sprite at Torda]
Altina's party arrives in the port of Torda.[A]
There, they stay a night to replenish
their supplies. [A]
[Steward portrait]
The Steward of Torda receives them warmly,
but the city hides a dark secret...[A]
[Ch 1: To Protect the People]
[Background: Inn without bed.
BGM: Merlinus (49)]
[Altina 08, Gaius 0A]
[Florice runs in from the right to 0C.]
Florice:
General! Oh, and Lady Altina!
You won't believe it![A]
I've turned this whole city
upside down, and no one [autoscroll]
can sell us a proper weapon! [A]
It's always, "Do you know how
much a pound of iron ore runs?" [A]
And I say, yes! Yes, I do! [A]
We have the money and we're
not going out there armed [autoscroll]
with practice swords!![A]
Gaius:
Calm yourself, Florice.
We're not here to fight.[A]
In the event of an emergency,
our own weapons will do. [A]
Florice:
Yes, General.[A]
I only worry that all of
Tekkeit is like this...[A]
The scarcity of metal can't
be affecting just Torda.[A]
Altina:
I'd wager it's the war.[A]
The Kingdom must be channeling
all weaponry to the army. [A]
Florice:
May we pass unmolested through
the wartorn countryside[A]
with wooden swords and
stone-tipped spears in hand![A]
Gaius:
Florice. A true knight speaks
only when necessary.[A]
Florice:
Yes, sir.
... Sorry.[A]
Altina:
Don't worry, Florice. [A]
We are envoys of Tellius.
Our country is neutral, [A]
and our group is small and
clearly not here to fight.[A]
We should be able to pass
through to Serktoc in peace. [A]
Gaius: [Closes eyes]
...
Altina: [vanishes and reappears at 0A]
Gaius? Do you disagree? [A]
Gaius: [Opens eyes]
Milady, I fear the beastmen
may not be so respectful. [A]
Altina:
The beastmen...[A]
Gaius:
My father ran a trade route
between Tekkeit and Cel.[A]
As a youth I saw the beasts
on several occasions.[A]
I have never witnessed
a smidgen of civility.[A]
Altina:
Still... table manners may
be one thing, [A]
but surely they would not
attack a peaceful party? [A]
Gaius:
...
Altina:
What? Why are you looking
at me like that? [A]
Gaius:
Milady, I know better than to
try to change your mind. [A]
Altina:
Gaius!
Florice:
Pfff-[A]
Altina: [Vanishes and appears at 09]
Florice, you too?
Florice:
Pffbtt-
Er-hem, I wasn't laughing.[A]
Gaius:
Florice.
Show your Lord due respect.
Florice:
Huh? [A]
Why is everyone looking at me?
W-What did I do this time!? [A]
[Fade out.]
[Fade back in, same background CG.
BGM: The Inn (44)
This scene is written assuming that the door is to the left. If the door is to the right, please flip all locations.]
[Altina 0C, Gaius 0D]
Off-screen Left:
Lord Kirsch?
Altina:
Yes? Come in. [A]
[Damon appears 08. Make Gaius's portrait appear on top of Altina's.]
Damon:
Lord Kirsch.[A]
I am Damon, son of the
Steward of Torda.[A]
I heard that your group
is skilled in combat. [A]
Is that correct? [A]
[Gaius's portrait disappears]
Altina:
I am Lord Kirsch.
Damon:
... Pardon?
Altina:
I am Lord Altina of
House Kirsch. [A]
[Gaius's portrait appears in the same position as before.]
This is my General, Gaius. [A]
[Gaius's portrait disappears]
Our group is capable of its
own defense, but we would [A]
prefer not to do battle until
we meet with the King. [A]
Damon:
Oh! Yes, I see...[A]
My request is unrelated to
the war.[A]
Altina:
Then what...[A]
Off-screen Left:
Yeah, you too, innkeep!
Pay up! [A]
Damon: [closes eyes]
... It's the Guild.
Altina:
The Guild?
Damon: [opens eyes]
Yes. They used to be a simple
band of thieves. [A]
Recently, however, with our
patrolmen drafted to battle... [A]
They gathered more members, [A]
and now they've almost taken
over the city. [A]
Their leader came to my father's
doorstep tonight, and I...[A]
I'm afraid they will finally
seize power today. [A]
And my father...[A]
Altina:
Your patrolmen were drafted? [A]
How could the King leave
your city so defenseless? [A]
Damon:
This war is difficult, and
the danger of losing is[A]
Very real indeed. [A]
It is not my place to
question the King, [A]
even as rogues clamor at
the door.[A]
Altina:
It is his duty to ensure the
safety of all the cities [autoscroll]
of Tekkeit. [A]
But now is not the time for
talk. Gaius?
[Gaius appears in same position as before] [A]
[Altina moves to 0A]
Are our knights gathered?
Gaius:
Only Randel and Florice are
with us. The others [A]
have not yet returned.
[IF SARITA IS ALIVE]
Altina:
You, me, Randel, Florice,
and Sarita... [A]
[Altina moves to 0B]
Will that be enough? [A]
How many are there in
the Guild? [A]
[IF SARITA IS "DEAD"]
Altina:
You, Randel, Florice,
and myself...[A]
[Altina moves to 0B]
Will that be enough? [A]
How many are there in
the Guild? [A]
[MERGE]
Damon:
I do not know. [A]
Twenty men...
Maybe thirty. [A]
Gaius:
Even with all our forces
present, they outnumber us. [A]
Altina:
We can't just do nothing. [A]
Outnumbered or not, we are
better trained. [A]
Gaius:
I implore you to reconsider.
Remember our weapon situation. [A]
Altina:
We can make do, if we must. [A]
[Altina moves to 0A]
Gaius, think of it as currying
favor with the King. [A]
Gaius:
... [A]
If you command it.
[Switch to map view.

A few moments later, Damon appears at the entrance of the inn.]
[Damon's portrait 0B]
Damon:
Lord Kirsch, will you be all right?
[Altina's portrait 09]
Altina:
It's all right.
Don't worry about me. [A]
Damon:
I would help, but I barely
snuck away unarmed...[A]
Altina:
You have been trained
in battle? [A]
Damon:
Archery. Perhaps I will
demonstrate later. [A]
Right now, please take a look.
My home is over there.[A]
[Portraits vanish.
Camera pan to the boss, Mercade, at the steward's house.]
[Mercade at 0A, Steward at 0D]
Mercade:
I'm sick of chewing the fat,
old man! This talk is over. [A]
Is this city ours, or are you
gonna die first?[A]
Steward: [hops]
P-Please!
Please don't hurt me![A]
Mercade:
You heard him, boys!
It's time! City's ours! [A]
[Enemies come out.]
[Randel runs in from the left to 09. Altina at 0B and Damon at 0D.]
Randel:
Milady! The rogues are making
their move! [A]
Altina:
Then we must meet them. [A]
This city's safety will be
assured if we defeat [A]
the Guild's leader,
am I right? [A]
Damon:
For the time being, at least. [A]
Altina:
Then let's go.
There's no time to lose. [A]

I see.
...[A]
Altina:
Sir Damon, you're worried for
your father, aren't you? [A]
Damon:
... I confess it is so. [A]
I should worry for my people,
for Torda. [A]
But when I think of what may
have befallen my father... [A]
Altina:
... It's all right.
Damon:
Hm? [A]
Altina:
No one would blame you for
worrying about your father. [A]
And we will do our best to
ensure his safety. [A]
Damon:

Thank you... [A]

Oh! [hop]
Oh goddess, I've been saved! [A]
[Steward runs up to 0A]
Thank you so much for lending
us the might of your knights! [A]
Altina:
Um... Think nothing of it.
Steward:
I apologize deeply for all
this trouble during your stay. [A]
You've done us a great service
by ridding of us of the Guild,
yet we have only been
troublesome hosts...
Oh, if there's anything
we could do for you![A]
Altina:
Please, don't worry yourself. [A]
Steward:
But I insist!
Gaius:
Milady. May I?
Altina:
Yes?
Gaius:
This battle has taken its
toll on our weaponry, [A]
and the markets are
starved for metal. [A]
If you could spare a single
spear from your storehouse...[A]
Steward:
Ah! It shall be done! [A]
And please, join us for a
feast tonight!
Altina:
We would be honored.
Off-screen right: Father!
[Gaius and Randell disappear. Altina vanishes and reappears 08. Damon runs into 0C]

Father! You're unharmed!
Steward:
Damon? Oh, my boy, come here! [A]
[Damon moves to 0A]

It's not the food, is it? [A]
I thought the roasted

Altina:
No... well... I'm not
that hungry right now... [A]
But it's not that.
Sarita:
You can always talk to me...
Altina:
Mm...[A]
...
Say, Sarita. [A]
Ever since we arrived
in Tekkeit... [A]
Have you gotten this...
feeling about the people here? [A]
Sarita:
A feeling about the people
here...? [A]
I'm not sure what you mean. [A]
Altina:
Never mind.
I must be imagining it. [A]
...
War is horrible, isn't it? [A]
Torda hasn't seen any real
battle, and yet it still [autoscroll]
suffers from the invasion. [A]
Sarita:
War touches everyone, Milady.
Altina:
Everyone? That's
a bit extreme, isn't it? [A]
Sarita:
Do you remember how the
people needed more aid [autoscroll]
in food this winter? [A]
Altina:
Yes. I thought we grew our
own food... [A]
Sarita:
That may be so, Milady, but
we do not have much salt. [A]
The mages at Serktoc found a
way to rend the earth for it, [A]
and they will not share their
secrets with us... [A]
Still, Tekkeitian salt is
much less expensive than [autoscroll]
salt from anywhere else. [A]
As you know, most of our land [A]
is too wet for grain and too
dry for rice. [A]
The forests of Tellius are
rich with game, but meat[A]
must be salted to last through
the winter. [A]
The people could not afford to
buy salt mined by hand. [A]
Altina:
... So this war in Tekkeit
caused their hardship? [A]
I had no idea...[A]
Sarita:
Yes... We may be neutral,
but we are not unaffected. [A]
Altina:
... I wish there could
be peace. [A]
Sarita:
Me too... [A]
Oh, but [hop] dwelling on that
won't do us any good. [A]
I brought you a salmonberry
tart! [A]
Altina:
A ... what tart? [A]
Sarita:
Salmonberry. They're the
raspberries of north Tekkeit. [A]
Here.
It's delicious![A]
Altina:
Hmm...
... Mmm. [A]
This is good, isn't it.
... [A]
Sarita:
Altina.
Altina:
Hmm?
Sarita:
There's still something on your
mind, isn't there. [A]
Altina:
Oh.
Yes... [A]
Heh. I could never hide
anything from you. [A]
Sarita:
It's all right if you're
not ready. [A]
I'll be here when you are.
Altina:
No, it's fine.
It's nothing, really. [A]
I'm just... glad. [A]
Damon was so happy to see his
father alive and well. [A]
Sarita:
Milady...
Altina:
Even though it's hard for me
to watch... I think it helps. [A]
Sarita:
I understand.
Altina:
Ha ha, listen to me, going on
like this. [A]
It must have been even worse
for you, Sarita... [A]
[BRANCH OFF DEPENDING ON DEATHS]
[SCENE B]
[IF FLORICE DIED]
Sarita:
Oh, no, it's all right. [A]
And besides, when... all of
that happened with my House...[A]
You were there for me.
Altina:
I... I tried my best. [A]
You know, until now,
I always thought... [A]
Sarita:
What is it?
Altina: [Sadface]
... I always thought I could
protect people. [A]
I thought, if I were strong
enough, smart enough, [A]
everyone... everyone would
be all right. [A]
Sarita:
Milady... [A]
Florice would not have
blamed you. [A]
I don't think she could have
deserted a town in need. [A]
Altina:
But she didn't have to die![A]
Maybe someone else could've
helped this town and kept [autoscroll]
us all alive. [A]
Or maybe Gaius was right.
Maybe it was hopeless. [A]
Sarita:
I don't think so, milady.
We saved them. Didn't we? [A]
[GO TO IF-SARITAS]
[IF RANDEL DIED]
[SCENE C]
Sarita:
Oh, no, it's all right. [A]
And besides, when... all of
that happened with my House...[A]
You were there for me.
Altina:
I... I tried my best. [A]
You know, until now,
I always thought... [A]
Sarita:
What is it?
Altina: [Sadface]
... I always thought I could
protect people. [A]
I thought, if I were strong
enough, smart enough, [A]
everyone... everyone would
be all right. [A]
Sarita:
Milady... [A]
Randel would not have
blamed you. [A]
I don't think he could have
deserted a town in need. [A]
Altina:
But he didn't have to die![A]
Maybe someone else could've
helped this town and kept [autoscroll]
us all alive. [A]
Or maybe Gaius was right.
Maybe it was hopeless. [A]
Sarita:
I don't think so, milady.
We saved them. Didn't we? [A]
[GO TO IF-SARITAS]
[IF RANDEL AND FLORICE DIED]
[SCENE D]
Sarita:
Oh, no, it's all right. [A]
And besides, when... all of
that happened with my House...[A]
You were there for me.
Altina:
I... I tried my best. [A]
You know, until now,
I always thought... [A]
Sarita:
What is it?
Altina: [Sadface]
... I always thought I could
protect people. [A]
I thought, if I were strong
enough, smart enough, [A]
everyone... everyone would
be all right. [A]
Sarita:
Milady... [A]
They would not have blamed
you. Not Randel, not Florice. [A]
They swore their oaths. They
swore loyalty to you. [A]
And they swore never to
abandon the needy. [A]
Altina:
But they didn't have to die![A]
Maybe someone else could've
helped this town and kept [autoscroll]
us all alive. [A]
Or maybe Gaius was right.
Maybe it was hopeless. [A]
Sarita:
I don't think so, milady. We
saved this village. Didn't we? [A]
[MERGE - IF A CAVALIER HAS DIED AND IF SARITA HAS NOT RETREATED]
[SCENE F]
Altina:
[close eyes]I... [open eyes]I don't know.
Sarita:
Milady?
Altina:
... [A]
Maybe we should head back.
[Altina disappears]
Sarita:
Milady, wait...!
[GOTO DAMON SCENE]
[MERGE - IF A CAVALIER HAS DIED AND IF SARITA HAS RETREATED]
[SCENE E]
Altina:
I don't know. I don't know...
Even you, Sarita. [A]
My decisions even hurt you. [A]
I could have lost you like
the others. [A]
Why was I trusted with
this mission? [A]
[Close eyes] Everything's already gone
so wrong... [A]
Sarita:
Milady...
Please don't lose hope. [A]
If you do, we will have
truly failed Tellius. [A]
Altina:
[Opens eyes]Is hope all I have, now...? [A]
[Altina disappears]
Sarita:
Milady? [A]
[Sarita steps closer to where Altina was]
Milady, wait...!
[GOTO DAMON SCENE]
[IF RANDALL AND FLORICE ARE ALIVE]
[SCENE A]
Sarita:
Oh, no, it's all right. [A]
And besides, when... all of
that happened with my House...[A]
You were there for me.
So don't worry, Altina. [A]
I'll listen to whatever you
need to say. [A]
Altina:
Thank you. Everything's off
my chest for now. [A]
Shall we go back? They might
be worrying about us. [A]
Sarita:
Yes. Let's go back. [A]
[MERGE ALL BRANCHES]
[CG: inside a fancy house, as before.
BGM: A Knight's Oath (47)]
[Sarita 08, Altina 09, Damon 0B]
Damon:
Lady Altina?
Ah, there you are. [A]
Altina:
Sir Damon. My apologies,
I'd stepped out for a moment. [A]
Damon:
No worries. Actually, I
came to ask to join you. [A]
Altina:
Join us?
Damon:
Yes. I thought about what
you said. [A]
Mercade and his guild may
have been defeated, [A]
but our problem remains.
Others may soon fill his void.[A]
The King should at least
hear our plea. [A]
I wish to accompany your
party to the capital. [A]
He may dismiss a common
messenger.[A]
I think the Steward's son
may be harder to ignore. [A]
Altina:
Of course. We ask only
that you bring enough [A]
for yourself. We've traveled
lightly, you understand. [A]
Damon:
Yes, of course. I will not be
a burden. If you require it, [A]
I shall aid in the group's
defense when necessary.
Altina:
Then we're delighted to have
you with us.
[Damon joins, yaaay.]
- I think they were supposed to skirmish in a hotel at night, more because I thought it'd make a fun map than because of any particular story reason.
- Tekkeit, which they're traveling to, is supposed to be a continent to the west of Tellius which was formerly the dominant land before it got drowned under water.
- I had plans for Goldoa and I do not remember what they were.
- Lehran came in fairly late-game. Also, it's love at first sightregardless of my secret fondness for lord/wind mage yuris.
- I think maybe Tekkeit was supposed to be the motherland of the beast laguz? Which is why in canon Tellius's timeline we see them mostly displaced and homeless until they flee from Begnion and settle in Gallia? I think Altina was actually supposed to meet Soan in court fairly early in the game. Dheginsea back in Tellius is in opposition to them for whatever reason. Also he's a hothead.
- I think I was really overwhelmed juggling the necessary "here, meet new characters, grow a party for battle!" elements with Tellius connections and also holding down a consistent sense of world. The dialogue you see in the scripts above still seems somewhat ok to me by itself, but unfortunately it just wasn't serving a higher story well enough.
I think my brother asked me for some rudimentary script to introduce some trial maps with Ike and Soren's post-RD adventures so that he could have fun hacking, and this is what I came up with. (I deliberately used GBA-era characters so that existing sprites could be used.)
He also asked me to keep the conversation at a minimum because he hated inputting text. I gave him this and he complained that it was too much. :P
Trial Map 1
Mechanical Notes:
I think this would be best balanced with blue units in this chapter in the low levels of their promoted class. (Ike: Hero. Soren: Sage.) That way you still have to consider EXP throughout the chapters, but you get some sense that your heroes aren't, you know, wimps.
I think Soren should have a Physic to help keep the NPCs alive before they join you, especially since them staying alive is essential for moving on to the next chapter. Other weaponry is up to your discretion, although I recommend giving everyone a lot of uses of weapons because I don't think a shop has any place here.
(Ship battle in fog, Condition: Survive. Dialogue with the map as the background.)
Soren:
Hmm...
Ike: [sprite runs up to Soren; portrait appears behind Soren]
Hey.
Soren: [turns to face Ike]
Hello, Ike.
Ike:
What's up?
You look worried.
Soren:
Well... [A]
The fog isn't letting up, and
I hear the cries of wyverns. [A]
Shouldn't I be?
Ike:
... Yeah, that's something
to worry about. [A]
You have your weapons with
you right now?
Soren:
Of course.
Ike:
Let's take them.
(Beginning of first enemy turn: Cursor focuses on the boss, Vaida, who is deep in the fog.)
Vaida:
Grr! This blasted fog! [A]
You! Worm! You said you knew
where you were going!
Grunt: [appears]
Uh, well, Commander, I do...
when it's clear out...
Vaida:
Idiot! You led us INTO the
fog! Now get us out!
Heath: [appears]
Commander, we've sighted
a ship to the [direction].
Vaida:
A ship? What colors does
she fly?
Heath:
None, Commander.
Vaida:
Pirates, then. We'll show
them no mercy!
(Battle: Vaida, Ike. Note: The {} and () are supposed to represent different languages. You can figure out a different way to show this if you'd like.)
Ike:
{Are you their leader?}
Vaida:
(What's this gobbledy-gook
coming out of your mouth? [A]
Speak up if you have
something to say!!)
Ike:
{She sounds angry...[A]
Guess there's no use
in talking.}
(Battle: Heath, Soren.)
Heath:
(You...)
Soren:
{... What did you say?}
Heath:
(??? ... Sacaen, perhaps? Are
you lost? You're so young!)
Soren:
{... I see. [A]
That explains why I can't
recognize their crest...[A]
Regardless, they attacked us,
and I cannot use words [A]
to negotiate with them. That
leaves only one option.}
(On some turn, have Syrene (Falcoknight), Tana (Wyvern Lord), and Vanessa (Falcoknight) (all from FE8) fly in, green.)
Vanessa:
Sis... I'm worried about
this fog. [A]
Titania's getting tired. (Note: Titania is Vanessa's pegasus. It's canon.)
Syrene:
Yes, I'm worried too. [A]
Let's go back if we don't find
her within an hour.
Tana: [from off-screen]
Syrene!!
Syrene:
Princess?
Tana: [running in]
There are wyverns up ahead!
A whole army of them!
Syrene:
What? Who could it be...?
Tana:
I don't know. I've never seen
their crest before.
Syrene:
An unknown army... We need to
withdraw. Immediately.
(For their first turn, they fly away toward the edge of the map. During the next enemy phase, they're attacked.)
Tana:
Why are they attacking us?!
Syrene:
I don't know, but I don't
understand a word they say!
Vanessa:
Hey! What's that over there?
Tana:
A ship! They're fighting the
wyvern riders too. [A]
Do you think, maybe...
Syrene:
It's not Renaitian, but...
We need their help.
(Now the green units fly toward the boat. Syrene will actively try to talk to Ike.)
(Talk: Syrene to Ike)
Ike:
Great, pegasus knight
reinforcements... [A]
Just what we needed.
Syrene:
Ah! You speak our tongue?
Ike:
Looks like it. By the way, we
could use some help here...
Syrene:
As can we.
Ike:
It's settled, then.
(The green units join your team.)
At the end of the last enemy turn
If Vaida is alive
Vaida:
Grr...
They're no ordinary pirates. [A]
Withdraw! We must report back
to Bern.
Else
Grunt:
W-who are they? They're
tearing through us... they [A]
defeated Commander Vaida...
Withdraw! Retreat! Aahh!

DEATH QUOTES - These apply for all chapters.
Ike:
Ugh... how disappointing...
Soren:
Ike! Ike!! No! [A]
It couldn't be...
We've survived so much... [A]
I... Ike, how can I go on?
[GAME OVER]
Soren:
Ah!
Ike:
Soren! Hold on!
Soren:
Ike... I'm... sorry, I...
... broke... my... promise...
Ike:
I'm bandaging it right now,
hold on! Soren!!
[GAME OVER]
Syrene:
So this is the end. ...Vanessa...
Tana:
I've long been prepared for this day... Too long...
Vanessa:
Please... Forgive me...
(After battle, if you didn't recruit the green units)
Ike:
Who were they?
(LABEL A)
Soren:
A foreign people... [A]
Ike, remember when you said
that there must be something [Autoscroll]
out there? [A]
I think we've just found it.
Ike:
I was hoping they'd be
friendlier.
Soren:
Shall we turn back?
Ike:
Yeah. Let's not stick around
where we're not wanted.
(GAME END)
(After battle, if they were recruited and one of Syrene, Vanessa, or Tana died.)
Ike:
The people who helped us said
they're going home to mourn. [A]
They said they don't know
about that army, either.
(goto Label A)
(After battle, if Syrene, Vanessa, and Tana are recruited and alive.)
Soren:
It appears the wyvern army
is retreating.
Ike:
Good work. Now...
[Syrene, Vanessa, and Tana appear on the other side of the screen]
Who are you three?
Syrene:
My name is Syrene, Commander
of Frelia's Third Battalion. [A]
These knights with me are
Princess Tana, and my sister, [autoscroll]
Vanessa. [A]
Ike:
I'm Ike.
This is my strategist, Soren. [A]
I have no clue where Frelia
is, but we came from Crimea.
Syrene:
I see... [A]
The wyvern riders, were they
from, ah, Crimea?
Soren:
No. Frankly, we were under
the impression that no other [A]
lands survived the flood.
Tana:
The flood?
Ike:
Looks like we have a lot of
catching up to do.
Syrene:
If you wouldn't mind, I need
to ask you something urgent. [A]
Have you seen any other ships,
or a girl with teal hair?
[Fade out, because you hate script.]
Trial Map 2
(Below deck -- a storage room with a staircase at the far corner. It can have darkness-type fog of war if you'd like. Units: Only Ike and Soren. Initial condition: Survive X turns. Condition after turn 1: Rout & Protect Erina.)
Soren:
Your "strategist."
Ike:
Huh?
Soren:
I'm your strategist on this
trip, am I?
Ike:
I'd say so. Is that what's
been bothering you?
Soren:
... I suppose.
Ike:
... Hey. Soren. Look. [A]
I didn't leave to go fight
in some more wars. [A]
I didn't take you just
because --
[Some cool sound effects or something.]
Off-screen:
Watch out, Ike! Pirates!
They're going belowdecks!
Ike:
Oh, come on! Now?
Soren:
Not all mortal enemies are
as patient as Ashera.
Ike:
Fine. [A]
... Sigh.
Why is it always pirates?
(Pirates appear, chapter begins.)
End of Turn 1:
Erina (Eirika): (currently a red unit on the map)
You said this would answer
all of my questions... [A]
But I see nothing but
senseless destruction.
Pirate:
Eh? What's this, wench?
Erina:
I cannot partake in this.
I will not pillage this ship!
Pirate:
... Eh, that warn't what you
were here for anyway.
[Erina changes to green. Pirate rushes at Erina, show battle sequence. He takes Erina down to lowish hp. Yeah yeah weapon triangle whatever.]
Erina:
Urk-- what...
Pirate:
You there, go tell the flying
ponies to shaddup, or the [A]
princess gets it. Oy, you
louts, you heard me? [A]
Not a muscle or the princess
gets it!
Ike:
... Hey, Soren, do you think
that's...
Soren:
... The Queen the Frelians
were looking for. Yes.
Ike:
Well, now this is less
pointless. [A]
Let's get her out of there!
(Talk: Ike, Erina)
Ike:
Hey! Are you all right?
Erina:
I... I'm fine. I can fight.
Sorry for the trouble...
Ike:
Don't apologize.
Just watch out. They're tough.
(Talk: Soren, Erina)
Soren:
...
Erina:
Thank you for helping me. [A]
[Soren vanishes]
... Did I say something wrong?
Erina's death quote (in general)
Erina:
I couldn't do... anything...
IF ERINA DIES
[The pegasus knights fly in through the stairs]
Syrene:
That body... is that...
Tana:
Eirika! [hop] Eirika!!
No...!
(fade out)
Soren:
Armies, pirates... [A]
This is clearly not the best
part of the ocean to be in.
Ike:
Yeah. The Frelians are leaving
for home to mourn. I think we [A]
should get going too.
Soren:
Yes. Let's turn back.
(Game end.)
(After battle)
Syrene: [Off-screen]
Queen Eirika!
[Runs in]
Queen Eirika, it's you...!
Erina:
Queen Eirika.
Is that who I am...?
Syrene:
!
Erina:
You see, I woke up on a ship
with no memory of who I am. [A]
Only that there is one thing
I must do... [A]
I must find King Desmond, and
save him from his son.
Ike:
King Desmond?
Erina:
The pirates told me he is the
King of a foreign country [A]
not far from here.
Soren: [appears]
Ike? Could I have a moment?
[All sprites except Ike and Soren vanish, and Ike's sprite approaches Soren.]
Ike:
Do you think her vision's
important?
Soren:
... Whether or not it is,
should we be getting involved?
Ike:
Well, what other plans did
you have for this month?
Soren:
Frankly? I was hoping to
reach a charming port town [A]
and pass a few nights on
our own in an inn.
Ike:
We can still do that. [A]
Besides, aren't you getting
a bit... bored?
Soren:
We can find something to do
without mixing ourselves up [A]
with Kings and their
inheritance disputes.
Ike:
Come on, Soren. It's worth
taking a look at. [vanishes]
Soren:
...
With my apologies to the musicians behind the RD OST, whose themes I butchered.
Altina's theme(?), the early-chapter BGM.
Ashera's theme. A remix of her RD theme with warm tones since she's the good goddess here.
The BGM for the cutscene-ish point where Ashunera flips the fuck out. (Mechanically, it was supposed to be done sort of like the scene where Eliwood slays Ninian in FE7.) The melody past 1:08, I think, is Yune's theme backwards or inverted or something else pretentious like that.
Yune battle music
This was either supposed to be the music after you brought Yune to heel, or something involving Lehran. I don't remember.
Is this a rip of ocean sfx? Did I make this myself in Finale Notepad? I do not remember.
A transcript of Grace from RD's OST. I think it was supposed to be for when Lehran arrived to tell everyone to stop fighting because god is blowing up.

[Altina 0C, Gaius 0D]
Off-screen Left:
Lord Kirsch?
Altina:
Yes? Come in. [A]
[Damon appears 08. Make Gaius's portrait appear on top of Altina's.]
Damon:
Lord Kirsch.[A]
I am Damon, son of the
Steward of Torda.[A]
I heard that your group
is skilled in combat. [A]
Is that correct? [A]
[Gaius's portrait disappears]
Altina:
I am Lord Kirsch.
Damon:
... Pardon?
Altina:
I am Lord Altina of
House Kirsch. [A]
[Gaius's portrait appears in the same position as before.]
This is my General, Gaius. [A]
[Gaius's portrait disappears]
Our group is capable of its
own defense, but we would [A]
prefer not to do battle until
we meet with the King. [A]
Damon:
Oh! Yes, I see...[A]
My request is unrelated to
the war.[A]
Altina:
Then what...[A]
Off-screen Left:
Yeah, you too, innkeep!
Pay up! [A]
Damon: [closes eyes]
... It's the Guild.
Altina:
The Guild?
Damon: [opens eyes]
Yes. They used to be a simple
band of thieves. [A]
Recently, however, with our
patrolmen drafted to battle... [A]
They gathered more members, [A]
and now they've almost taken
over the city. [A]
Their leader came to my father's
doorstep tonight, and I...[A]
I'm afraid they will finally
seize power today. [A]
And my father...[A]
Altina:
Your patrolmen were drafted? [A]
How could the King leave
your city so defenseless? [A]
Damon:
This war is difficult, and
the danger of losing is[A]
Very real indeed. [A]
It is not my place to
question the King, [A]
even as rogues clamor at
the door.[A]
Altina:
It is his duty to ensure the
safety of all the cities [autoscroll]
of Tekkeit. [A]
But now is not the time for
talk. Gaius?
[Gaius appears in same position as before] [A]
[Altina moves to 0A]
Are our knights gathered?
Gaius:
Only Randel and Florice are
with us. The others [A]
have not yet returned.
[IF SARITA IS ALIVE]
Altina:
You, me, Randel, Florice,
and Sarita... [A]
[Altina moves to 0B]
Will that be enough? [A]
How many are there in
the Guild? [A]
[IF SARITA IS "DEAD"]
Altina:
You, Randel, Florice,
and myself...[A]
[Altina moves to 0B]
Will that be enough? [A]
How many are there in
the Guild? [A]
[MERGE]
Damon:
I do not know. [A]
Twenty men...
Maybe thirty. [A]
Gaius:
Even with all our forces
present, they outnumber us. [A]
Altina:
We can't just do nothing. [A]
Outnumbered or not, we are
better trained. [A]
Gaius:
I implore you to reconsider.
Remember our weapon situation. [A]
Altina:
We can make do, if we must. [A]
[Altina moves to 0A]
Gaius, think of it as currying
favor with the King. [A]
Gaius:
... [A]
If you command it.
[Switch to map view.

[Damon's portrait 0B]
Damon:
Lord Kirsch, will you be all right?
[Altina's portrait 09]
Altina:
It's all right.
Don't worry about me. [A]
Damon:
I would help, but I barely
snuck away unarmed...[A]
Altina:
You have been trained
in battle? [A]
Damon:
Archery. Perhaps I will
demonstrate later. [A]
Right now, please take a look.
My home is over there.[A]
[Portraits vanish.
Camera pan to the boss, Mercade, at the steward's house.]
[Mercade at 0A, Steward at 0D]
Mercade:
I'm sick of chewing the fat,
old man! This talk is over. [A]
Is this city ours, or are you
gonna die first?[A]
Steward: [hops]
P-Please!
Please don't hurt me![A]
Mercade:
You heard him, boys!
It's time! City's ours! [A]
[Enemies come out.]
[Randel runs in from the left to 09. Altina at 0B and Damon at 0D.]
Randel:
Milady! The rogues are making
their move! [A]
Altina:
Then we must meet them. [A]
This city's safety will be
assured if we defeat [A]
the Guild's leader,
am I right? [A]
Damon:
For the time being, at least. [A]
Altina:
Then let's go.
There's no time to lose. [A]

I see.
...[A]
Altina:
Sir Damon, you're worried for
your father, aren't you? [A]
Damon:
... I confess it is so. [A]
I should worry for my people,
for Torda. [A]
But when I think of what may
have befallen my father... [A]
Altina:
... It's all right.
Damon:
Hm? [A]
Altina:
No one would blame you for
worrying about your father. [A]
And we will do our best to

Thank you... [A]

Ho ho! Why doncha put the

Killin' little girls leaves a

Such a waste... you know

Altina:
I assure you, you won't

Sarita___
Mercade:
Oi, yer a pretty little thing! [A]
Why doncha put that tome down.
Then I won't have t'kill yeh. [A]
Hate to waste... know what

Eh? Yer a woman? [A]
Hah! Come peacefully and

Oh! [hop]
Oh goddess, I've been saved! [A]
[Steward runs up to 0A]
Thank you so much for lending
us the might of your knights! [A]
Altina:
Um... Think nothing of it.
Steward:
I apologize deeply for all
this trouble during your stay. [A]
You've done us a great service
by ridding of us of the Guild,
yet we have only been
troublesome hosts...
Oh, if there's anything
we could do for you![A]
Altina:
Please, don't worry yourself. [A]
Steward:
But I insist!
Gaius:
Milady. May I?
Altina:
Yes?
Gaius:
This battle has taken its
toll on our weaponry, [A]
and the markets are
starved for metal. [A]
If you could spare a single
spear from your storehouse...[A]
Steward:
Ah! It shall be done! [A]
And please, join us for a

Altina:
We would be honored.
Off-screen right: Father!

... [A]
[Normal Altina]
...
Who's there?
[Sarita runs in to 0C]
Sarita:
Milady? There you are. [A]
[Sarita runs to 0B]
I've been looking all
over for you. [A]
It's not the food, is it? [A]
I thought the roasted
pheasant was good... [A]
Altina:
No... well... I'm not
that hungry right now... [A]
But it's not that.
Sarita:
You can always talk to me...
Altina:
Mm...[A]
...
Say, Sarita. [A]
Ever since we arrived
in Tekkeit... [A]
Have you gotten this...
feeling about the people here? [A]
Sarita:
A feeling about the people
here...? [A]
I'm not sure what you mean. [A]
Altina:
Never mind.
I must be imagining it. [A]
...
War is horrible, isn't it? [A]
Torda hasn't seen any real
battle, and yet it still [autoscroll]
suffers from the invasion. [A]
Sarita:
War touches everyone, Milady.
Altina:
Everyone? That's
a bit extreme, isn't it? [A]
Sarita:
Do you remember how the
people needed more aid [autoscroll]
in food this winter? [A]
Altina:
Yes. I thought we grew our
own food... [A]
Sarita:
That may be so, Milady, but
we do not have much salt. [A]
The mages at Serktoc found a
way to rend the earth for it, [A]
and they will not share their
secrets with us... [A]
Still, Tekkeitian salt is
much less expensive than [autoscroll]
salt from anywhere else. [A]
As you know, most of our land [A]
is too wet for grain and too
dry for rice. [A]
The forests of Tellius are
rich with game, but meat[A]
must be salted to last through
the winter. [A]
The people could not afford to
buy salt mined by hand. [A]
Altina:
... So this war in Tekkeit
caused their hardship? [A]
I had no idea...[A]
Sarita:
Yes... We may be neutral,
but we are not unaffected. [A]
Altina:
... I wish there could
be peace. [A]
Sarita:
Me too... [A]
Oh, but [hop] dwelling on that
won't do us any good. [A]
I brought you a salmonberry
tart! [A]
Altina:
A ... what tart? [A]
Sarita:
Salmonberry. They're the
raspberries of north Tekkeit. [A]
Here.
It's delicious![A]
Altina:
Hmm...
... Mmm. [A]
This is good, isn't it.
... [A]
Sarita:
Altina.
Altina:
Hmm?
Sarita:
There's still something on your
mind, isn't there. [A]
Altina:
Oh.
Yes... [A]
Heh. I could never hide
anything from you. [A]
Sarita:
It's all right if you're
not ready. [A]
I'll be here when you are.
Altina:
No, it's fine.
It's nothing, really. [A]
I'm just... glad. [A]
Damon was so happy to see his
father alive and well. [A]
Sarita:
Milady...
Altina:
Even though it's hard for me
to watch... I think it helps. [A]
Sarita:
I understand.
Altina:
Ha ha, listen to me, going on
like this. [A]
It must have been even worse
for you, Sarita... [A]

You know, until now,

I thought, if I were strong

Sarita:
Milady... [A]
Florice would not have
blamed you. [A]
I don't think she could have
deserted a town in need. [A]
Altina:
But she didn't have to die![A]
Maybe someone else could've
helped this town and kept [autoscroll]
us all alive. [A]
Or maybe Gaius was right.
Maybe it was hopeless. [A]
Sarita:
I don't think so, milady.
We saved them. Didn't we? [A]

Oh, no, it's all right. [A]
And besides, when... all of
that happened with my House...[A]
You were there for me.
Altina:
I... I tried my best. [A]
You know, until now,
I always thought... [A]
Sarita:
What is it?
Altina: [Sadface]
... I always thought I could
protect people. [A]
I thought, if I were strong
enough, smart enough, [A]
everyone... everyone would
be all right. [A]
Sarita:
Milady... [A]
They would not have blamed
you. Not Randel, not Florice. [A]
They swore their oaths. They
swore loyalty to you. [A]
And they swore never to
abandon the needy. [A]
Altina:
But they didn't have to die![A]
Maybe someone else could've
helped this town and kept [autoscroll]
us all alive. [A]
Or maybe Gaius was right.
Maybe it was hopeless. [A]
Sarita:
I don't think so, milady. We
saved this village. Didn't we? [A]
[MERGE - IF A CAVALIER HAS DIED AND IF SARITA HAS NOT RETREATED]
[SCENE F]
Altina:
[close eyes]I... [open eyes]I don't know.
Sarita:
Milady?
Altina:
... [A]
Maybe we should head back.
[Altina disappears]
Sarita:
Milady, wait...!
[GOTO DAMON SCENE]
[MERGE - IF A CAVALIER HAS DIED AND IF SARITA HAS RETREATED]
[SCENE E]
Altina:
I don't know. I don't know...
Even you, Sarita. [A]
My decisions even hurt you. [A]
I could have lost you like
the others. [A]
Why was I trusted with
this mission? [A]
[Close eyes] Everything's already gone
so wrong... [A]
Sarita:
Milady...
Please don't lose hope. [A]
If you do, we will have
truly failed Tellius. [A]
Altina:
[Opens eyes]Is hope all I have, now...? [A]
[Altina disappears]
Sarita:
Milady? [A]
[Sarita steps closer to where Altina was]
Milady, wait...!
[GOTO DAMON SCENE]
[IF RANDALL AND FLORICE ARE ALIVE]
[SCENE A]
Sarita:
Oh, no, it's all right. [A]
And besides, when... all of
that happened with my House...[A]
You were there for me.
So don't worry, Altina. [A]
I'll listen to whatever you
need to say. [A]
Altina:
Thank you. Everything's off
my chest for now. [A]
Shall we go back? They might
be worrying about us. [A]
Sarita:
Yes. Let's go back. [A]
[MERGE ALL BRANCHES]
[CG: inside a fancy house, as before.
BGM: A Knight's Oath (47)]
[Sarita 08, Altina 09, Damon 0B]
Damon:
Lady Altina?
Ah, there you are. [A]
Altina:
Sir Damon. My apologies,
I'd stepped out for a moment. [A]
Damon:
No worries. Actually, I
came to ask to join you. [A]
Altina:
Join us?
Damon:
Yes. I thought about what
you said. [A]
Mercade and his guild may
have been defeated, [A]
but our problem remains.
Others may soon fill his void.[A]
The King should at least
hear our plea. [A]
I wish to accompany your
party to the capital. [A]
He may dismiss a common
messenger.[A]
I think the Steward's son
may be harder to ignore. [A]
Altina:
Of course. We ask only
that you bring enough [A]
for yourself. We've traveled
lightly, you understand. [A]
Damon:
Yes, of course. I will not be
a burden. If you require it, [A]
I shall aid in the group's
defense when necessary.
Altina:
Then we're delighted to have
you with us.
[Damon joins, yaaay.]
- I think they were supposed to skirmish in a hotel at night, more because I thought it'd make a fun map than because of any particular story reason.
- Tekkeit, which they're traveling to, is supposed to be a continent to the west of Tellius which was formerly the dominant land before it got drowned under water.
- I had plans for Goldoa and I do not remember what they were.
- Lehran came in fairly late-game. Also, it's love at first sight
Ike:
{Are you their leader?}
Vaida:
(What's this gobbledy-gook
coming out of your mouth? [A]
Speak up if you have
something to say!!)
Ike:
{She sounds angry...[A]
Guess there's no use
in talking.}
(Battle: Heath, Soren.)
Heath:
(You...)
Soren:
{... What did you say?}
Heath:
(??? ... Sacaen, perhaps? Are
you lost? You're so young!)
Soren:
{... I see. [A]
That explains why I can't
recognize their crest...[A]
Regardless, they attacked us,
and I cannot use words [A]
to negotiate with them. That
leaves only one option.}
(On some turn, have Syrene (Falcoknight), Tana (Wyvern Lord), and Vanessa (Falcoknight) (all from FE8) fly in, green.)
Vanessa:
Sis... I'm worried about
this fog. [A]
Titania's getting tired. (Note: Titania is Vanessa's pegasus. It's canon.)
Syrene:
Yes, I'm worried too. [A]
Let's go back if we don't find
her within an hour.
Tana: [from off-screen]
Syrene!!
Syrene:
Princess?
Tana: [running in]
There are wyverns up ahead!
A whole army of them!
Syrene:
What? Who could it be...?
Tana:
I don't know. I've never seen
their crest before.
Syrene:
An unknown army... We need to
withdraw. Immediately.
(For their first turn, they fly away toward the edge of the map. During the next enemy phase, they're attacked.)
Tana:
Why are they attacking us?!
Syrene:
I don't know, but I don't
understand a word they say!
Vanessa:
Hey! What's that over there?
Tana:
A ship! They're fighting the
wyvern riders too. [A]
Do you think, maybe...
Syrene:
It's not Renaitian, but...
We need their help.
(Now the green units fly toward the boat. Syrene will actively try to talk to Ike.)
(Talk: Syrene to Ike)
Ike:
Great, pegasus knight
reinforcements... [A]
Just what we needed.
Syrene:
Ah! You speak our tongue?
Ike:
Looks like it. By the way, we
could use some help here...
Syrene:
As can we.
Ike:
It's settled, then.
(The green units join your team.)
At the end of the last enemy turn
If Vaida is alive
Vaida:
Grr...
They're no ordinary pirates. [A]
Withdraw! We must report back
to Bern.
Else
Grunt:
W-who are they? They're
tearing through us... they [A]
defeated Commander Vaida...
Withdraw! Retreat! Aahh!

DEATH QUOTES - These apply for all chapters.
Ike:
Ugh... how disappointing...
Soren:
Ike! Ike!! No! [A]
It couldn't be...
We've survived so much... [A]
I... Ike, how can I go on?
[GAME OVER]
Soren:
Ah!
Ike:
Soren! Hold on!
Soren:
Ike... I'm... sorry, I...
... broke... my... promise...
Ike:
I'm bandaging it right now,
hold on! Soren!!
[GAME OVER]
Syrene:
So this is the end. ...Vanessa...
Tana:
I've long been prepared for this day... Too long...
Vanessa:
Please... Forgive me...
(After battle, if you didn't recruit the green units)
Ike:
Who were they?
(LABEL A)
Soren:
A foreign people... [A]
Ike, remember when you said
that there must be something [Autoscroll]
out there? [A]
I think we've just found it.
Ike:
I was hoping they'd be
friendlier.
Soren:
Shall we turn back?
Ike:
Yeah. Let's not stick around
where we're not wanted.
(GAME END)
(After battle, if they were recruited and one of Syrene, Vanessa, or Tana died.)
Ike:
The people who helped us said
they're going home to mourn. [A]
They said they don't know
about that army, either.
(goto Label A)
(After battle, if Syrene, Vanessa, and Tana are recruited and alive.)
Soren:
It appears the wyvern army
is retreating.
Ike:
Good work. Now...
[Syrene, Vanessa, and Tana appear on the other side of the screen]
Who are you three?
Syrene:
My name is Syrene, Commander
of Frelia's Third Battalion. [A]
These knights with me are
Princess Tana, and my sister, [autoscroll]
Vanessa. [A]
Ike:
I'm Ike.
This is my strategist, Soren. [A]
I have no clue where Frelia
is, but we came from Crimea.
Syrene:
I see... [A]
The wyvern riders, were they
from, ah, Crimea?
Soren:
No. Frankly, we were under
the impression that no other [A]
lands survived the flood.
Tana:
The flood?
Ike:
Looks like we have a lot of
catching up to do.
Syrene:
If you wouldn't mind, I need
to ask you something urgent. [A]
Have you seen any other ships,
or a girl with teal hair?
[Fade out, because you hate script.]
Trial Map 2
(Below deck -- a storage room with a staircase at the far corner. It can have darkness-type fog of war if you'd like. Units: Only Ike and Soren. Initial condition: Survive X turns. Condition after turn 1: Rout & Protect Erina.)
Soren:
Your "strategist."
Ike:
Huh?
Soren:
I'm your strategist on this
trip, am I?
Ike:
I'd say so. Is that what's
been bothering you?
Soren:
... I suppose.
Ike:
... Hey. Soren. Look. [A]
I didn't leave to go fight
in some more wars. [A]
I didn't take you just
because --
[Some cool sound effects or something.]
Off-screen:
Watch out, Ike! Pirates!
They're going belowdecks!
Ike:
Oh, come on! Now?
Soren:
Not all mortal enemies are
as patient as Ashera.
Ike:
Fine. [A]
... Sigh.
Why is it always pirates?
(Pirates appear, chapter begins.)
End of Turn 1:
Erina (Eirika): (currently a red unit on the map)
You said this would answer
all of my questions... [A]
But I see nothing but
senseless destruction.
Pirate:
Eh? What's this, wench?
Erina:
I cannot partake in this.
I will not pillage this ship!
Pirate:
... Eh, that warn't what you
were here for anyway.
[Erina changes to green. Pirate rushes at Erina, show battle sequence. He takes Erina down to lowish hp. Yeah yeah weapon triangle whatever.]
Erina:
Urk-- what...
Pirate:
You there, go tell the flying
ponies to shaddup, or the [A]
princess gets it. Oy, you
louts, you heard me? [A]
Not a muscle or the princess
gets it!
Ike:
... Hey, Soren, do you think
that's...
Soren:
... The Queen the Frelians
were looking for. Yes.
Ike:
Well, now this is less
pointless. [A]
Let's get her out of there!
(Talk: Ike, Erina)
Ike:
Hey! Are you all right?
Erina:
I... I'm fine. I can fight.
Sorry for the trouble...
Ike:
Don't apologize.
Just watch out. They're tough.
(Talk: Soren, Erina)
Soren:
...
Erina:
Thank you for helping me. [A]
[Soren vanishes]
... Did I say something wrong?
Erina's death quote (in general)
Erina:
I couldn't do... anything...
IF ERINA DIES
[The pegasus knights fly in through the stairs]
Syrene:
That body... is that...
Tana:
Eirika! [hop] Eirika!!
No...!
(fade out)
Soren:
Armies, pirates... [A]
This is clearly not the best
part of the ocean to be in.
Ike:
Yeah. The Frelians are leaving
for home to mourn. I think we [A]
should get going too.
Soren:
Yes. Let's turn back.
(Game end.)
(After battle)
Syrene: [Off-screen]
Queen Eirika!
[Runs in]
Queen Eirika, it's you...!
Erina:
Queen Eirika.
Is that who I am...?
Syrene:
!
Erina:
You see, I woke up on a ship
with no memory of who I am. [A]
Only that there is one thing
I must do... [A]
I must find King Desmond, and
save him from his son.
Ike:
King Desmond?
Erina:
The pirates told me he is the
King of a foreign country [A]
not far from here.
Soren: [appears]
Ike? Could I have a moment?
[All sprites except Ike and Soren vanish, and Ike's sprite approaches Soren.]
Ike:
Do you think her vision's
important?
Soren:
... Whether or not it is,
should we be getting involved?
Ike:
Well, what other plans did
you have for this month?
Soren:
Frankly? I was hoping to
reach a charming port town [A]
and pass a few nights on
our own in an inn.
Ike:
We can still do that. [A]
Besides, aren't you getting
a bit... bored?
Soren:
We can find something to do
without mixing ourselves up [A]
with Kings and their
inheritance disputes.
Ike:
Come on, Soren. It's worth
taking a look at. [vanishes]
Soren:
...
With my apologies to the musicians behind the RD OST, whose themes I butchered.
Altina's theme(?), the early-chapter BGM.
Ashera's theme. A remix of her RD theme with warm tones since she's the good goddess here.
The BGM for the cutscene-ish point where Ashunera flips the fuck out. (Mechanically, it was supposed to be done sort of like the scene where Eliwood slays Ninian in FE7.) The melody past 1:08, I think, is Yune's theme backwards or inverted or something else pretentious like that.
Yune battle music
This was either supposed to be the music after you brought Yune to heel, or something involving Lehran. I don't remember.
Is this a rip of ocean sfx? Did I make this myself in Finale Notepad? I do not remember.
A transcript of Grace from RD's OST. I think it was supposed to be for when Lehran arrived to tell everyone to stop fighting because god is blowing up.
