The Future Kids (Part 1)
I got tired of running back to fact-check every time I wanted to write about the Bad Timeline. So here's a factsheet on the kids' childhoods, with citations.
Obviously, spoilers ahead.
There's a lot of factchecking I need to do to put this together so I'm going to post it in parts. In this post: Lucina, Morgan, Owain, Inigo, and Brady.
Preliminary Notes
"The Collective":
Noire recounts (in her B support with F!Avatar) that "A lot of fathers died first because they were on the front lines. Then the Risen started picking off the rest of us one by one." In the Japanese, this is even more specific: "Our fathers all died during the war, but the mothers somehow survived along with their children, but... in the end, everyone was [attacked] by the Risen, and they gave their lives to protect their children." (Of course, her specification of "all" must be an exaggeration, since we know several cases that don't fit this pattern.)
It seems to me that -- given how she describes the events -- the mothers and kids stayed together after most of the fathers died and victory seemed elusive. This also takes care of orphaned cases. Lucina's remarks about Lissa in the opening of Paralogue 5 reinforce this idea. There's some evidence between some kids that they were childhood friends and definitely part of some group, while others lack explicit evidence. (Personally, I'd say that almost all of the kids were probably around each other from a young age, but there's no evidence that this was the case for all of them.) Nonetheless, it's a salient possibility for many kids with more ambiguous backgrounds. I'm going to refer to this group as the Collective.
"Childhood Friends":
Most of these kids probably knew each other for a time, but some have explicit canon attestations that they knew each other as kids. I think that's worth noting, so I've included a section about it. Also, if Lucina or Morgan is anyone's sibling, then they count here too. I haven't bothered to include that disclaimer under everyone's factsheet.
The other parent:
Obviously, this field does not apply when Avatar (or in some cases, Chrom) is the other parent.
Lucina
Mother's Fate: The details vary depending on the mother. Lucina says in Chrom/Lucina supports that she remembers them being affectionate, so she must have survived at least until Lucina was capable of forming concrete memories (older than 4~5ish).
Father's Fate: Chrom was magic-stabbed and killed by Avatar when confronting Validar at the Dragon's Table.[Premonition] It is not specified how old Lucina was at the time. However, this event must have taken place later in the Bad Timeline than in the Original Timeline, since Chrom taught Lucina how to fight [Ch 4 cutscene] while in the Main Timeline, Chrom confronts Validar while Lucina is still an infant. The Chrom/Lucina supports also suggest that Chrom was around for some time--long enough for Lucina to have concrete memories of Chrom being affectionate with his wife.
Circumstances?: Surprisingly ambiguous. We know that Lucina was not present when Chrom fell. Instead, other people told her (vaguely) that Chrom was betrayed by a close friend. Lucina may have been part of the Collective, especially since she seems to have fond memories of Lissa.
Childhood Friends?: Gerome is known for certain -- "You have been my most stalwart companion ever since childhood, Gerome." [S Support] Kjelle, too, from their B support. Cynthia's nickname for her of "Lucy" is only found in the localization, but the way they talk in Harvest of Bonds is still very familiar. There are no explicit references to a shared past, but it certainly sounds that way. Given Lucina's memories of Lissa, she may have known Owain from an early age. And there's Lucina's sibling, of course. Otherwise, there's nothing to positively suggest close personal connections beyond the period shortly before their time travel.
Etc: Since Chrom's departure is also tied to other events (such as Cordelia's absence), it can reasonably be inferred that Lucina is a few years older than the other characters.
Morgan
The following write-up concerns how Morgan might have fit into the standard Bad Timeline that the other kids came from. If Morgan has a sibling, that sibling's memory of Morgan proves that there was a Morgan in the standard Bad Timeline. Otherwise, Morgan may or may not have existed in the standard Bad Timeline to begin with, and there's nothing in canon to help us with the details of what Morgan's universe was like.
Avatar's Fate: Obviously, Something Happened at the confrontation with Validar. Some speculate that the Avatar did not immediately turn into Grima at the time, based on inconsistencies with the Falchion, but given the blood cost of performing the ritual, I find it difficult to believe that the ritual would have been performed twice or failed take hold at first, and given the way the in-game ritual is presented, it appears one is sufficient to wake Grima to full power. I personally believe that it's valid to assume that the Avatar became Grima at that confrontation, although there are a lot of questions to be asked about the situation. (For example, if Avatar is Owain's father, apparently they're separated in the chaos of battle during a Risen attack?)
Other Parent's Fate: Depends entirely on the other parent. The child-bearing women have fates spelled out by their other child, while nothing at all is said about other potential parents.
Circumstances?: If a sibling, Morgan is the younger sibling, and their sibling seems to know them fairly well, suggesting that Morgan was raised alongside their sibling. Otherwise, all of Morgan's other supports are written to be compatible with any conceivable situation. The Future Past seems to suggest that at some point, Morgan took Grima's side. We don't know when that happened. Another mystery is that regardless of parentage, Morgan has two copies of the same strategy manual, [Hot Springs Scramble; Cynthia for F!Morgan, Inigo for M!Morgan] which would be explained if something happened like the events in The Future Past. [Avatar conversation with opposite-gender Morgan] Her timeline seems to have been visited by a time traveler. Basically, Morgan is full of mysteries.
Childhood Friends?: Again, Morgan's tied to their sibling. Otherwise, their interactions were written to work in the event that Morgan is a stranger to everyone.
Owain
Mother's Fate: Lissa seems to have survived long enough for Lucina to remember her being a source of strength, but she's still been dead for several years by the time the kids time travel. [FP2 Owain and Lissa talk] It's not specified how she died, although Owain was probably present -- "I shouldn't have let you die." [Same talk] It checks out in the Japanese, where Owain even specifies, "I couldn't protect you," perhaps suggesting that Owain was old enough to be a reasonably competent fighter by the time. Lissa probably did not die defending Owain, considering the way Owain frames the situation.
Father's Fate: Died defending Owain. It's not specified whether he died before or after Lissa, but given how long Lissa apparently survived, what are the odds he died after? :P
Circumstances?: As Lissa's son, he was almost certainly part of the Collective.
Childhood Friends?: He played "Justice Cabal" with Cynthia. (The name is a localization thing, but either way, they played heroes as kids.) He seems close to Inigo (Aside from the tone of their supports you also have lines like: "If you ever need a shoulder to lean on, I'll always be willing to listen." - Harvest Scramble; "I'm sorry to make you do this, Inigo. But...I'm glad I got to spend my last moments with you." - Future Past 2) though it's not clear if that's an old or recently formed friendship. One might suppose that something would come of Lissa and Maribelle's relationship -- and I suspect that's the rationale behind giving Owain and Brady supports -- but there's no evidence that they were childhood friends.
Inigo
Mother's Fate: Olivia canonically died before Inigo's eyes. [Future Past] Inigo mentions to Lon'qu, Henry, and Donnel in his Future Past talks that both his parents died in his defense -- up to you whether that reflects on Olivia if she married someone else. Olivia lived long enough to teach Inigo several dances.
Father's Fate: As before: Lon'qu, Henry, and Donnel die in his defense. Frderick may have as well ("I don't want you in a position to... I don't want you to die protecting me!" - Future Past). The other fathers aren't specified, except Chrom. Who is, well. Chrom.
By the time his last parent dies, he's strong enough to fight, per the earlier quoted line in Harvest Scramble.
Circumstances?: Since Owain and Cynthia were around each other as kids, and Cynthia and Inigo were around each other as kids, it follows that Inigo was in the Collective.
Childhood Friends?: Canonically childhood friends with Cynthia (A support) and Brady ("How many years do you think I've heard you go on about your dreams, Inigo?" - Harvest Scramble). He seems to have known Brady through their mothers [Harvest Scramble], who talked with each other often in the future. Probably childhood friends with Owain (see evidence under Owain).
Brady
Mother's Fate: It's hard to say. There are no specifics about how Maribelle died. The timeline seems almost contradictory. In The Future Past, Maribelle says, "Did I raise you to run for the hills at the sight of your own mother's face?" and Brady shoots back, "You didn't raise me, period!" (It checks out in the Japanese: "I wasn't raised by you!") Meanwhile, Brady and Inigo seem to remember their mothers talking about their dreams [Harvest Scramble]. Additionally, Maribelle taught him a great number of things, including violin and chess and so on [Paralogue]. The line from the Paralogue about Maribelle "giving up after a decade or so" doesn't exist in the Japanese. Nonetheless, she must have survived for some time to teach him noble things.
Father's Fate: Brady seems to recognize his father in the Future Past, and even remarks to Frederick that he was rebelling against his parents' meticulousness. On the other hand, he seems totally taken in by Maribelle's teatime prank [Father C]. His father probably died relatively early.
Circumstances?: By transitivity with Inigo, probably in the Collective.
Childhood Friends?: Inigo [Harvest Scramble], Noire ("You probably don't remember, but we used to be regulars at the healers as kids, too. We had a bad habit of passing colds back and forth for weeks on end..." - A Support), and Kjelle ("Yeah, I remember ya as a kid! Always running around with some pointy stick" - C Support). Also, possibly Cynthia ("You're like a little sister to me, Cynthia. Ya know?" - S Support) and Owain (the moms argument).
