What if that were Lehran's ghost?

Light of Creation - Lehran

At Lorazieh's urging, Sephiran lay himself down within Serenes, and was healed by the songs of the herons.

The epilogue does say this, but we know from Rajaion that not all heron healing of souls leads to survival. More than Lehran being alive, should the requirements of that scene be read as, "if you didn't help Lehran kill himself"? I'm quite certain the implications of this healing are strongly mental.

Lehran Welcome home.

??? Could it be that you were here all this time?

Lehran Alas, no, I am sorry to say. But for several days, I've somehow felt as though you would soon return.

Ashunera seems to think that a reasonable interpretation of Lehran's presence is that he was fixed there - rather unlikely for a mortal. Very likely for a spirit.

And then there's the wings. He seems to have always had them (see Serenes massacre flashback) but it's an interesting statement that we only now see them... Looking a bit healthy for all their disuse.

...

That does seem entirely more fitting.

And the ambiguity is so very FE.

I guess it could make sense, but I'm not entirely sure-- the scene not being there if he dies in the tower seems a little suspect to me. If the healing was like Rajaion and was more of a "dying at peace" thing, I'd expect that to mean floating off to whatever the "other side" constitutes in Tellius, rather than lingering as a spirit away from people like Altina.

But it's an interesting theory, and would explain the WTF around his age.
