10.5 hours or so, Photoshop CS3. Tamir Triad fanart, because there isn't nearly enough out there. Now that I look at it, the neck is too darkly shaded, but eh. I'm done with this.

That is some seriously nice art. *_* I really want to pick up this series after seeing your posts about it. Is it worth reading Nightrunner first, or...?

I think the Tamir Triad does improve if you're already familiar with the world, and the first Nightrunner book (Luck in the Shadows) eases you into the world more gracefully than Tamir does. And while you're there, you may as well read the second (Stalking Darkness) which concludes the major storyline set up by the first.

The Nightrunner books are tons of fun on their own, especially the first two, which I think are the strongest. The rest are largely self-contained and just don't have the spark that comes with the first two, but if you like the characters, by all means keep reading them.

The Tamir Triad is perfectly readable without Nightrunner, but if you were planning to check out Nightrunner anyway, read Nightrunner first.

I used to for a bit, a long time ago, but then I just stopped using DeviantArt. For lack of habit, I guess. Then there came the genderwank about the place (when they forced you to choose a gender signing up, I think) and people were deleting out of political protest and I decided to do it too, since I wasn't using it and it was as good a time to exit as any.

So now I more or less just intermittently post to LJ/DW with tags.
