I always kind of suspected that Roy's multiple endings were just someone getting SUPER EXCITED about the whole support system thing. I mean, I can think of vague storyline justification for all of them, and Kyusil's pointed out that a number of them could be political (Lalam's the adopted daughter of a big time Etrurian general, Thany's the sister-in-law of Ilia's king, etc.), but they still strike me as "oh look, cute girl! let's make an ending because we can!"
I did always think it was odd that Clarine and Roy didn't support, though. She always seemed like a logical harem member-- moreso than Cecilia, at least.
And yeah, the whole Gheb thing is the grossest part of Ephraim's route, IMO, and I still think it was really unnecessary. It does show Amelia's recruitment in an interesting light, but for Tana, it's stupid.
